Individual Lessons: Functional Integration®

Functional Integration lessons teach you to gradually expand and alter your movement process and range, while helping you become more aware of how your mind, breath and body are working during your movements.

Sometimes you’ll be standing or sitting, other times lying on a table (with pillows, rollers or blankets to help keep your body supported), as your practitioner helps guide the movement of your head, legs, arms, etc. This is a hands-on form of kinesthetic learning. Your practitioner tells and shows you how to organize your body, and then gently helps you find comfortable positioning and easier movement, while you learn how to reorganize your body and behavior in new and more expanded functional motor patterns.

  • Individual lessons are scheduled for last 60 minutes.
  • You’ll start with comfortable, easy movements that gradually become more complex and involve greater range. You’ll move slowly, and we’ll help you do so without pain or strain.
  • Movements are often based on those you perform in daily life – reaching, standing, moving from lying down to sitting, looking over your shoulder – but others are designed to explore joint, muscle and postural relationships. Regardless, they are all precision movements that involve thinking, sensing, moving and imagining – training you to connect mind and body.
  • Your practitioner develops a lesson for you, custom-tailored to your unique configuration at that particular moment, keeping in mind your intentions and needs.

Cost: 60-minute lessons are $90 for one or $810 for 10 paid in advance.

Schedule: Please contact us to arrange a convenient time for your individual lesson.

Group Lessons: Awareness Through Movement®

The focus of our activities in the group setting is to help you become aware of how different movements create changes in your body, and to help you discover which movements work better for you. The awareness helps you learn to substitute new, more successful, ways of using and holding your body, and of tapping into your mind in new ways.

  • Group classes generally last 30-60 minutes.

Thank you very much for the lesson. I felt great – very even-keel – afterwards, and was so impressed by both its effects and the experience overall. You’re clearly a talented practitioner!

I know I have healed in so many ways. When I first started last year, I was stumbling over my feet and broke my arm. Today I’m walking, talking and even skipping for joy!

After knowing Robert for several years I still really did not understand the dynamics surrounding Feldenkrais. One day I took a session with him and I was blown away. I was amazed at the Feldenkrais process. My legs did not seem attached to my body. Robert was so gentle and professional. There is no way to describe it. Feeling is believing.
